It was 1972, and All in the Family and Sanford and Son were major hits for their respective networks, CBS and NBC. In an attempt to capitalize on this success, ABC unveiled The Super, a sitcom starring Richard S. Castalleno as the superintendent of a New York apartment as he deals with a lot of things, including raising his teenage son. 12 episodes were ordered, but 10 were shown before its cancellation, and due to the 1972 Summer Olympics, the final two were never aired. In the 45 years since, only a promotional still has resurfaced.
