Missing Links was a 1997 sitcom pilot produced by ABC and starring Bruce Campbell. The show was based off of a successful book at the time and, according to at least one source, a spinoff of the Kevin Costner film Tin Cup. Campbell discussed the pilot in some detail in his autobiography If Chins Could Kill. According to him, the show could best be described as "Cheers at a low-rent, public golf course."
Purportedly, Missing Links went over very well with test audiences, and was even one the highest rated pilots that year. However, ABC ultimately passed on it due to not having a sufficient time slot for it.
