Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) reissued several of their theatrical cartoon shorts to theaters with different title sequences, scene changes, and altered credits. It is speculated that the original prints of the cartoons released before September 1951 were destroyed in a fire in vault 7 of the MGM studio backlot in 1965.
Some of the original title sequences have been found, but with varying levels of quality.
Tom and Jerry title card sketches[]
Cartoon Network displayed sketches of early Tom and Jerry title cards. No official version of the card on the left appears to exist in any of the original prints.
